Santa's Trash Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Mix ins

  • 1/2 cup M&Ms
  • 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup pretzels
  • 1/3 cup potato chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/4 red and green sprinkles

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Mix in the egg yolks one at a time, ensuring they are fully incorporated. Add the vanilla extract and mix again until smooth.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the cookies tender.
  • Gently fold in the M&Ms, semi-sweet chocolate chips, pretzels, potato chips, white chocolate chips, and festive red and green sprinkles. Make sure the mix-ins are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Using a medium cookie scoop or a tablespoon, scoop out dough balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. If you’d like a bakery-style look, press a few extra M&Ms or pretzels on top of the dough balls before baking.
  • Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers will look slightly underbaked—this is perfect for a chewy texture!
