Red Velvet Cake Mix Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 Red Velvet Cake Mix Betty Crocker or other brands
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tsp milk

Instructions

  • Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • Mix Wet Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Incorporate Cake Mix: Gradually add the red velvet cake mix to the wet ingredients, stirring until a thick, smooth batter forms.
  • Spread Batter: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.
  • Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Cool and Serve: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before slicing them into squares or adding your frosting.
  • Make your cream cheese frosting: beat the butter and cream cheese together until fluffy and well combined. Beat the cream cheese frosting until smooth and well combined.
  • Spread frosting: Spread your frosting on your brownies.
