Cinnamon Sugar Donuts

Whole wheat cinnamon baked donuts

Ingredients

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup spelt flour Bobs Red Mill is my favorite
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup low fat sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Topping

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350F. Spray donut pan with nonstick spray
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together brown sugar and egg. Ad your milk, sour cream, and vanilla and whisk until combined
  • Then add in your dry ingredients: coconut sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt
  • Spoon the mixture into the donut pan. Make sure it is spread evenly
  • Bake donuts for 8-10 minutes
  • While this cooks, melt your butter. In a separate small bowl combine your sugar and cinnamon
  • Once the donuts have cooled, dip them in the butter and then dip in sugar mixture. SERVE
