Chocolate Chip Tahini Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips or chunks

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the tahini, egg, and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture. Mix until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.
  • Using a cookie scoop or spoon, scoop out portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each cookie for spreading. If you want, you can add some chocolate chunks on top!
  • Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
