Why I love this recipe

One of the great things about this recipe is that it is very easy to customize. You can add other ingredients to the cookie dough, such as chopped nuts, dried fruit, or chocolate chips, to give the cookies an extra touch of flavor and texture. You can also try using different types of nuts, such as almonds, pecans, or hazelnuts, in place of the macadamia nuts.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies Ingredients

  • Unsalted butter, softened: necessary in cookies and adds a buttery flavor
  • Sugar: These cookies use both brown and white sugar. Together, the combination of brown sugar and granulated sugar helps to create a well-balanced, flavorful cookie that is both sweet and moist. The brown sugar adds moisture and a rich, caramelized flavor, while the granulated sugar helps to add structure and sweetness.
  • Eggs: you will need an egg and an egg yolk in these cookies. The extra egg yolk helps add moisture and chewiness to these cookies.
  • Vanilla extract: helps to enhance and balance the flavors of the white chocolate and macadamia nuts. It also adds a subtle sweetness to the cookies and helps to round out the overall flavor profile.
  • All-purpose flour: measure this accurately so your cookies are not too dry or too moist.
  • Baking soda: allows for cookies to stay softer and chewier for longer
  • Macadamia nuts, chopped: I make sure to finely chop them so they more seamlessly incorporate into your cookie.
  • White chocolate chips: Adds a sweet, warm flavor to your cookies. You can omit or substitute with something else if you wish.

How to Make White Macadamia Nut Cookies

  • Cream your butters and sugars: your first step is to cream your butter snd sugars together until they are light in color and fluffy in texture. Scrap down the sides and bottom of the bowl to make sure everything is creamed well.
  • Add the eggs: Next, add the egg and egg yolk one at a time, mixing until well combined after each addition. Then add the vanilla extract.
  • Add your dry ingredients: Slowly add in your dry ingredients. You do not want to over mix.
  • Mix in the white chocolate and macadamias: Lastly, add the white chocolate chips and macadamia nuts and stir everything together. The cookie dough will be a bit thick

Frequently asked Questions

How do I store white chocolate macadamia nut cookies?

To store the cookies, place them in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator. The cookies will stay fresh for up to a week. You can also freeze the cookies for up to a month and thaw them before serving.

Why are my cookies spreading too much?

  • you added too much milk or mis-measured an ingredient. Even changing the amount of sugar can affect the cookie texture
  • you added fewer mix-ins. The less white chocolate or macadamia nuts you added, the more likely they are to spread more easily.

Why aren’t my cookies spreading?

  • You most likely added to much flour
  • If you added a lot of mix-ins , this could impact the spread.
  • Smaller cookie balls. They will probably spread less. Try flattening them slightly before baking.
