Packed with oats, peanut butter, and almond milk, these muffins will certainly get you through a busy, packed morning!

If you are not vegan or rather use dairy products, then feel free to replace the unsweetened almond milk with dairy milk and regular mini chocolate chips.

These muffins will still serve as delectable breakfasts or even after-dinner snacks.

Why vegan?

Vegan recipes, being that they are dairy-free, can help to reduce inflammation that is linked to dairy and its corresponding products.

Thus, opting for a dairy-free alternative will prove beneficial for your overall health. Plus, there are so many dairy alternatives available today, making dairy-free baking and cooking quite convenient. For this recipe, I used Silk almond milk along with Know Better chocolate chips, both of which are dairy-free.

Why go dairy-free?

Cutting out dairy might not be the most popular of choices, but there are some health benefits to it.

  • Acne: Dairy is a major cause of oils in the body and is what makes inflammation increase. As you may know, acne is an inflammatory condition. Dairy might not always be the cause of bad acne, but its worth a try to experiment with your diet.
  • Weight Loss: Eliminating dairy can help with weight loss! Milk and unsweetened dairy products contain lactose and natural sugar, while other dairy product can contain lots of added sugar.
  • Candida: Dairy is something you should avoid if you’re at risk for Candida overgrowth. Dairy is widely known to cause inflammation, which in turn, promotes the growth of unhealthy gut bacteria.

What you can do.

I would start by finding dairy-free versions of your favorite foods.  With the health market on the rise, it is now easier than ever to find dairy-free products in stores!!

Make sure to increase the amount of nutrient-rich foods in your diet.  Have lots of leafy greens and other healthy veggies that provide you with the vitamins your body needs.

I promise that you will not regret making these chocolate chip oatmeal muffins! So, go ahead and preheat that oven and spray that muffin tin!
