This peanut butter and jelly smoothie is a healthy twist on the favorite childhood classic. It’s loaded with vitamin-rich fruit and has no added sugar. Plus it’s perfect for breakfast or as a post-workout drink.
Okay, so PBJ and I have a weird story.
It is one of love and pain and strife all in one.
If you were to ask my opinion on Peanut butter and jelly smoothies or just PBJ in general, I would say they are the BOMBDIGGITY. The flavor combination is truly something that gets me saying MMMM MMMM GOOODD. It’s a classic that will never go out of style.
BUT, if you were to ask little elementary school Caitlin, you’d be shocked to hear that she would often toss her PBJ sandwiches untouched in the dark abyss known as the cafeteria trash can.
I don’t know what it was. I think having it sit in my lunch bag for a few hours until lunchtime grossed me out. At once point, I was even embarrassed to be eating such a lame lunch.
You can say I was a weird child. If I could go back in time, I would totally shove those peanut butter and jelly sandwiches down my gullet like nobody’s business.
No matter how old you are, peanut butter and jelly always seems to . bring you back. As an adult who would NEVA throw away a good PBJ sandwich, I try to think of ways to get creative with these two ingredients.
Peanut butter is soooo versatile and can be used for a variety of things. These Peanut Butter Truffles one of my favorite no-bake treats that tastes amazing and only calls for 4 ingredients! Like can you resist that?!??! I really hope not, because then you’d be missing out.
When baking with peanut butter, I often choose one of the two options: creamy peanut butter or PBfit. For those of you who don’t know the magic that is PBfit, well let me enlighten you.
PBfit is peanut butter powder that has about 87% less fat and 1/3 the calories of traditional peanut butter. It’s the PERFECT alternative if you are looking to consume less fat in your diet.
There was a period in HS and in college where I actually went on a PBfit craze and would take my study breaks into the kitchen where I would treat myself to a spoonful of this powder. I didn’t even get to turn it into peanut butter half the time!!!
If you don’t give it a gander, you would be doing yourself a great disservice.
If you aren’t about the low-fat life and don’t care to make your own peanut butter, I love to use 365 extra creamy PB. You can check it out on Amazon right here.
Did I mention this peanut butter and jelly smoothie is so good your dog will be all up in it?!?
