How to Make a Mug Cake

Make a mug cake is easy and takes less than 5 minutes!

1. Mix

First spray your mug with nonstick cooking spray or rub it with coconut oil or butter. Add all of your ingredients into a small bowl and use a whisk or fork to mix. Tip: for better presentation mix your ingredient sin a separate bowl and transfer to your ramekin. 

2. Cook 

This recipe uses the oven and will give you more of a cake texture. It will also take a bit longer, but it is so worth it! Oven: Bake at 350F for 15 minutes

3. Eat

  1. Make sure to measure the ingredients accurately. To measure correctly, make sure you scoop the flour with a spoon into your measuring cup. Scrap the top with a knife to make it even.
  2. This particular recipe is made in the oven, but can made in the microwave for a few minutes until he cake is cooked. The less time the softer and more gooey it will be. Depending on how strong your microwave is, you may need to adjust the time. Microwave for about 3 minutes.
  3. Use Fresh Ingredients: Ensure your baking powder is fresh for the best rise and texture.
  4. Nutella Butter Swirl: For an extra decadent touch, swirl a bit of nutella on top of the batter before microwaving.

Gluten-Free Nutella Mug Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup oat flour
  • 1/4 cup quick oats
  • 1/8 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk (any kind you like)
  • 1 tbsp nutella

Instructions

  • Mix all your ingredients, except for the nutella, in a small bowl.
  • Spray a ramekin and pour half your batter in. Then add a tbsp of nutella in the center. Top it off with the rest of the batter.
  • Bake at 350F for 15 minutes.
