Made with just a few simple ingredients – cookie butter, unsalted butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and all-purpose flour – these truffles are easy to make and oh-so-delicious. They’re the perfect treat to whip up for a party, a potluck, or just a sweet treat for yourself.

Cookie Butter Truffles Ingredients

  • Cookie butter: This is the main ingredient in the truffles and gives them their characteristic spiced, creamy flavor. You can use store-bought or homemade cookie butter for this recipe. I used Biscoff for mine!
  • Unsalted butter: this makes for a creamy center
  • Powdered sugar: this adds to the texture and sweetness of the truffles
  • Vanilla extract: this helps enhance the flavor
  • All purpose flour: it helps to bind the cookie butter mixture together and gives it a firmer texture, making it easier to shape into balls and bake. Flour also adds structure and stability to the cookies, helping them to hold their shape as they bake.
  • Chocolate for melting: you will need chocolate to coat the truffles. You can use dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or white chocolate, depending on your preference.

How to make Cookie Butter Truffles

To make these truffles, simply cream together the cookie butter and butter until smooth. Add in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined. Gradually add in the flour, mixing until the dough comes together. Then, roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a wax paper-lined baking sheet. Refrigerate the truffles for at least 30 minutes to allow them to firm up.

Next, melt some chocolate chips or melting chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or over a double boiler. Dip the truffles into the melted chocolate, using a toothpick to hold them if necessary. Place them back on the wax paper-lined baking sheet, and allow the truffles to set in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Start with good quality chocolate: For the best flavor and texture, use high-quality chocolate for your truffles. Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or white chocolate all work well.
  2. Soften the cookie butter: To make it easier to work with, soften the cookie butter by microwaving it for a few seconds or heating it in a saucepan over low heat.
  3. Mix in additional ingredients: If you want to add some extra flavor to your truffles, try mixing in a teaspoon of cinnamon, nutmeg, or ground ginger to the cookie butter before rolling it into balls.
  4. Roll the truffles evenly: To ensure that your truffles are all the same size, use a small cookie scoop or a spoon to measure out the cookie butter mixture into equal portions. Then, roll the mixture between your palms to form smooth, round balls.
  5. Coat the truffles in chocolate: Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or in a double boiler. Dip the cookie butter balls into the melted chocolate, using a fork to lift them out and tap off any excess. Place the coated truffles on a parchment-lined baking sheet to set.
  6. Decorate the truffles: If you want to add some extra flair to your truffles, try decorating them with sprinkles, chopped nuts, or cocoa powder.
