Why You’ll Love this Recipe

  • simple ingredients: you might have the ingredients you need for this recipe in your pantry or fridge already!
  • quick to make: you only need about 10 minutes to get these babies put together !!
  • everyone will be obsessed: If you love toffee , chocolate, or caramel, this dessert will be irresistible.

Christmas Crack Bars Ingredients

  • saltine crackers: you will probably need a sleeve or 2 depending on how large your pan is! You can also use ritz crackers or graham crackers!
  • unsalted butter: I almost always bake with unsalted butter so I can control the amount of salt that goes into my recipes.
  • brown sugar: make sure it is well-packed
  • chocolate chips – I used semi-sweet, but milk chocolate also works. My fave brand for quality chocolate is Ghirardelli
  • toppings: nuts, sprinkles and anything else you like

Toppings

The sky is the limit when it comes to topping off your Christmas crack bars! I kept it simple and used Christmas sprinkles on mine! But here are some yummy ideas:

  • pecans, walnuts, or cashews
  • M&Ms
  • crushed Oreos
  • mini Reese’s cups
  • sea salt
  • broken candy canes

Tools I used to Make this Recipe

These crack bars couldn’t be more simple, but here are a few tools I used to make them. I used a spatula for spreading the caramel sauce, measuring spoons, aluminum foil, and a baking pan.

5 Ingredients & a Pan!

This recipe literally couldn’t get any easier! You do not need any fancy equipment and can get it done with whatever you have in the kitchen!

Prep the pan. First, line your pan (10 x 15) with aluminum foil and spray it with non-stick cooking spray. This is VERY important, otherwise, the toffee will stick to the foil. Then arrange the saltine crackers in 1 layer.

Caramel Sauce. Put your butter and brown sugar into a medium saucepan. Melt it together, stirring constantly.

How to Store Christmas Crack Bars

These christmas crack bars make the best gifts and snacks of course!! You can easily make this in advance and add it to a cookie plate for your holiday festivities! If stored in an airtight container, it can last for up to 5 days at room temperature and 10 days in the fridge. But if you are anything like me, it won’t last too long!
