Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Ingredients
Bananas – the riper your bananas, the better! Then simply mash them with a fork
Eggs – are a binding agent to hold the bread together and help it rise while baking
White Sugar -nothing beats the real deal with white granulated sugar
Coconut Sugar – you can use light brown sugar instead
Butter – butter helps keep banana bread fluffy and moist, unlike some low-fat substitutions
All-Purpose Flour – if you want the classic, nostalgic banana bread then this flour is the way to go! I haven’t experimented with GF flour so you will have to play around with that!
Chocolate Chips – You can sub this for pecans but I much rather the choc chips!
How to Make Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
If you haven’t made Chocolate Chip Banana Bread before, you’re in for a treat! Here’s how you can make yours.
- Preheat the oven to 350F and grease a 9×5 loaf pan
- Beat the sugar and softened butter until combined
- Combine the eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla in a mixing bowl.
- Pour in your dry ingredients and mix well. Once the batter is smooth, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour your batter into your greased loaf pan – top with more chocolate chips if desired.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or slightly until the toothpick comes out clean

There are a few things you can do with your banana bread! I personally think plain banana bread or ones with choc chips is great as is! BUT there are a few options for you! Here are some ideas:
- add walnuts or pecans for an extra crunch, or do half chocolate chip and half pecans
- Sub white chocolate chips or pb chocolate chips
- Add dried cranberries or raisins with walnuts
- Sub for vegan butter if you want it to be dairy-free
- To make muffins instead just divide the batter into your muffin tin and bake for 25-30 minutes
