3 Nutrition Challenges to TONE UP. It’s time to tighten your tummy and achieve your fittest self!
ARE YA READY??
Okay here we go!
1. CHUG CHUG CHUG
Before I get started, just need to say that this kid needs to be YOUR SPIRIT ANIMAL!! If you do nothing else, remember this image and reenact it every day LOL . Got it?
Okay. now we can begin.
Drinking enough water is the ultimate KEY to feeling your best on the inside AND outside! Staying hydrated helps you de-bloat, speeds your metabolism, and gives you much-needed energy! You should aim to drink half your body weight in ounces every day.
Growing up I always had a hard time drinking enough water. I could literally go the whole day with only drinking a bottle or MAYBE two.
I know. It was BAD. ( I do not recommend that )
It wasn’t until a year or two ago that I realized I really needed to up my water game if I wanted to fight my constant bloat and give myself some shiny locks.
The trick is to start keeping yourself accountable for everything you drink. This way you know how much you normally drink and then you can increase it from there.
It actually wasn’t until my old coworker got me the Hidrate Spark bottle that I really started making sure I kept my body hydrated.
I downloaded the app, added my two hydrate bottle buddies, and started chugging in a race to see who could drink the most.
It may sound silly or fake, but this water bottle is actually what forced me to drink more than I ever would have. It was kind of like an annoying younger sibling poking at me whenever I needed to drink more.
If I ever went too long without a sip of water, there it was blinking to remind me to get my act together and chug down another 20 oz before the day was over.
The best part about this was that I ACTUALLY saw a difference in my appearance. I always knew drinking water was good for me and that it helped with bloat but I just never fully committed to it.
To my surprise (I probably shouldn’t have been surprised AT ALL), I noticed my tummy was less bloated and my hair not only got shinier BUT IT GREW. ALOT! It totally helped me tone up in ways I didn’t know was possible so quickly.
I’M NOT EVEN KIDDING!!
This is probably the first step EVERYONE needs to do before trying anything else. It is a game changer and If I can learn to drink 6 more bottles of water than I’m used to than you totally can as well!
2. KEEP IT CLEAN
I didn’t call this thing The Clean Eater for sh*ts and giggles!! I fully believe that clean eating is the way to go!
You will probably hear me talking about eating Lean, Clean and Green. It is the back bone of what I preach ova here!
This is pretty much the key to seeing some major results in your body. Eating clean and lean means having wholesome, unprocessed foods like healthy fats, fresh fruits, lean protein and ALL OF THE GREENS.
This also means you get to make some yummy clean recipes 😉 * HEEEHEEEE*
Did you know that this can include some healthy versions of waffles, pancakes, cookies, smoothies and so much more!! Clean doesn’t have to be boring, and I am here to prove just that to ya! 🙂
I have brand new treats coming shortly in my brand new dessert ebook. It’s still in the early stages of development so there is still so much to be done! I’m just so excited, that I had to share with y’all! *teeheee*
3. BYE BYE BYE JUNK FOOD✋✋
Time to say farewell to some of your favorite junk foods, my friends. Before you freak out, just hear me out.
I want you to focus on meals that make you feel your best rather than on those that do not further your goals. Throughout trial and error (and just a little common knowledge), I found that steering clear of fried foods and processed goodies are one of the biggest factors in allowing me to reach my fitness goals.
I got rid of bagels, said goodbye to chips & fries, and even traded in some of my arsenal of baking supplies with healthier alternatives * sniff sniff. they are in a better place now*
At times I didn’t even realize how much extra calories I was consuming just but picking on silly foods like crackers, cheese ( lots of it… I ain’t even sorry about that one), chips at a restaurant, etc. etc.
Once I cut out unnecessary snacking and unhealthy snacking I saw a difference in my body. I would always say things like, “but I didn’t even eat that much” or “I just tried a few ________”.
Raise your hand if any of you here are guilty of that. I can’t even lie because I am sooooo guilty of doing this.
I am the QUEEN of picking and snacking.
Eventually, I took the next step and tried to replace my unhealthy snacking habits with healthier options like carrots with a little bit of hummus or guac. I also recommend crunchy snacks like baked snap peas. Hearing the cringe gives me some life LOL. (It’s the simple things people).
Hopefully, you aren’t rolling your eyes at these last bits here, because GIRL THESE ARE THE FACTS.
LIL TIP FOR YA: IF you have the after dinner munchies just get some seltzer or sparkling water with some lemon.
