Type 2 diabetes is a MAJOR health problem that affects millions of individuals worldwide.

According to the Archives of Internal Medicine, those who consumed 6 or more cups a day had a 22% LOWER risk of diabetes [2]. Moreover, a review of research revealed that type II diabetes risk decreases by 9% for each daily cup of coffee consumed [3]

The risk is also decreased by 6% for those who drink decaf coffee.

Some studies even observe that people who drink the most coffee showed a reduction as HIGH as 67%!!

So moral of the story, keep on drinking dat coffee! Read on to learn even more health benefits of coffee.

3. It can make you SMARTER  and increase your energy levels 🤓

#3 on the list on the list of health benefits of coffee is for those who wanna flaunt their smarts.

Caffeine is considered a central-nervous-system stimulant that increases energy metabolism throughout the brain while decreasing cerebral blood flow.

This ultimately induces brain hypofusion.

Many controlled studies in humans show that caffeine exhibits positive effects on learning, memory, performance, coordination, and general mental function [4

So basically, in normal people terms, caffein blacks a neurotransmitter which in turn results in a stimulant effect. This improves energy levels, mood and a surge in brainpower.

4. Coffee contains essential nutrients that help fight aging

Before we talk about the wonderful aging properties of coffee, let’s take a look at the nutrients

A single cup of coffee contains [6]:

  • Riboflavin (vitamin B2): 11% of the Reference Daily Intake (RDI).
  • Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5): 6% of the RDI.
  • Manganese and potassium: 3% of the RDI.
  • Magnesium and niacin (vitamin B3): 2% of the RDI.

Vitamin B plays a vital role in maintaining overall health.  They have a direct impact on our brain function, energy levels, and cell metabolism

It helps prevent infections and helps support or promote the following [ 7]:

  • cell health
  • growth of red blood cells
  • energy levels
  • good eyesight
  • healthy brain function
  • good digestion
  • healthy appetite
  • proper nerve function
  • hormones and cholesterol production
  • cardiovascular health
  • muscle tone

I don’t know about you, but rattling off that list makes me want to start brewing my own pot of coffee now!!!

Now let’s talk anti-aging.

The health benefits of caffeine have an impressive range and I’d like to shed some light on it for you guys.

Caffein appears to protect our bodies against chronic inflammation — something that occurs increasingly as we get older.

In fact, science proves that skincare products containing caffeine have a variety of benefits that can help your skin look smoother, healthier, and younger

I actually keep a container of a coffee bean scrub in my shower to smooth out my skin AND to also smell the coffee LOLZ.

You can find it HERE on Amazon.

5. Coffee can help fight depression and lower suicide risk

A 10-year study of 86,000 females shows a reduced risk of suicide in those who were coffee drinkers [8

Another study done revealed that coffee would LOWER the risk of depression by 20% for women who drink 4 or more cups a day.

Also, women who drink 4 cups a day are said to be 53% less likely to commit suicide.

I’m not saying coffee is the CURE for depression, but it definitely seems to help with those individuals who suffer from it.

6. May lower the risk of cancer

Cancer is one of the world’s leading causes of death.

Surprisingly, coffee appears to fight against 2 types of cancer: liver cancer and rectal cancer.

Liver cancer is actually way more prevalent than you would think.  It is the 3rd most common cause of cancer death in the world, with rectal cancer right behind it.

But get this:

Coffee has been known to LOWER the chances of getting liver cancer by up to 40%!

Also, another study with over 400,000 people found that individuals that drank 4-5 cups of coffee per day had about 15% lower risk of rectal cancer [1]

7. Coffee is good for the heart & can lower the risk of stroke

I’m sure at one point or another, you have heard that caffeine can increase your blood pressure.

While this may hold some truth, the rise is so small it usually doesn’t last long if you are an avid coffee drinker [9

However, if you have elevated blood pressure, you should keep a close eye on it just in case.

That being said, studies have shown that drinking 2 cups of coffee per day can reduce the risk of heart failure by 11% [10

Some studies show that people who drink coffee have a 20% lower risk of stroke.
Bottom line: Coffee may result in mild increases in blood pressure, which typically lessens over time. Studies do not support the idea that coffee drinkers have an increased risk of heart disease.
