Grow-Hair-Fast

Sharing is caring!

Unfortunately, we don’t always get the nutrients we need from our diets. Therefore, I gathered up 7 ways in which you can grow hair faster.

Grow-Hair-Faster

Did you know we are all born with the total amount of hair follicles we will ever have over our lifetime? In addition, male hair grows faster than female hair which is SO NOT FAIR.

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, hair grows about ½ inch per month on average.

How fast your hair grows will depend on your:

  • Age
  • Specific hair type
  • Overall health

What Factors Can Affect Hair Growth?

There are a few things that can affect hair growth.  This includes:

  • Stress
  • Nutrition
  • Hormonal changes
  • Genetics or family history of hair loss
  • Other diseases and conditions

Hormones Can Affect Hair Growth and Health:

Have you ever noticed that when a woman is pregnant she seems to have gorgeous hair? This is because, during pregnancy, the increase in the hormone estrogen causes women to grow hair faster.

Once they have the baby and hormones return to normal, they typically begin to shed their hair.  At this point, the hair follicles return to the “resting” phase.

Poor Diet Contributes to Unhealthy Hair

Vitamins, hair supplements, protein, and certain minerals all play a role in how long and fast our hair grows.

Obviously, there are other factors such as stress or a bad environment that causes poor hair quality, but diet remains one of the biggest contributors so such things.

If you want luscious locks, implement a healthy diet filled with fruits, vegetables, and lean meats!

DO NOT FORGET TO DRINK ENOUGH WATER!

As someone who had a hard time drinking water when I was younger, I noticed a significant change to my hair once I began drinking 60-80oz a day!!

The only thing that really helped me was getting a larger water bottle that forced me to drink more than just 8oz a day!

Here is the one I purchased from Amazon. I highly recommend it!

How to Make Your Hair Grow Stronger

  1. Take Vitamins and SupplementsGrow-Hair-Faster

It’s always best to get your vitamins and nutrients from your diets, but if that doesn’t work there are other routes you can take.

Here are some supplements you should consider looking into :

  • omega -3 and 6 – In a study of 120 females, the group who took omega-3 and -6 supplements had less hair loss and improved hair density.
  • Zinc: The World Health Organization says that zinc deficiency is a huge problem worldwide, with over 32% of humans on the planet not getting enough
  • Biotin: is a B complex vitamin that you ingest when you eat eggs, cheese, fish, raspberries, nuts, and cauliflower.  It helps the body produce amino acids that help produce keratin.

Research shows that those who took biotin saw a huge amount of new hair growth just after 90 days of taking a supplement twice a day.

  1. Apply Essential Oils

Essential Oils are extracted from plants and contain strong chemical properties that can be beneficial for health.

One study showed that pumpkin seed increases hair count for men with hair loss by 40 percent.

To use, make sure to dilute the oil with a few drops of essential oil or ounce of carrier oil.  This is not to go directly on the skin.

According to Healthline, you can mix these essential oils with other carrier oils that prevent hair damage such as:

  • Coconut ( I use Viva Naturals Organic Coconut Oil. Check it out on Amazon here
  • Sunflower
  • Mineral
  • Castor
  1. Protein

Protein helps your hair to grow and protect it against chemical damage.  If you are someone who is constantly curling or straightening their hair, using a protein treatment can protect your hair!!

Such treatments can be purchased anywhere!! (my personal favorite is Amazon OBVIOUSLY)

One popular one that you can get from Amazon is the Aphogee Two-step Treatment Protein for Damaged Hair.  Check it out right here.

This probably won’t come as a surprise, but coconut oil can help REDUCE the loss of protein before and after washing.

How do you get protein? Well, the answer is simple: load your diet up with lots of

  • Veggies
  • Nuts
  • Eggs
  • Avocados
  • Fish
  • Legumes
  • Olive oil
  • Whole grains
  1. Pay Attention to your Scalp

Let’s face it, our poor scalp get overlooked all the time. It’s hidden underneath a mane of hair, so dryness and other factors can be hidden.

Before purchasing shampoos, conditions and styling products, make sure the ingredients are chemical free and made WITHOUT perfumes.  These ingredients can play a role in inflammation that can potentially clog the pores on the scalp.

Remember that the skin BENEATH your hair is just as important as the skin on your face! Make sure to treat it the same way!!

Here’s what you can do:

  • Every night before bed give yourself ahead message to stimulate circulate and promote hair growth.
  • Exfoliate your scalp once a week with a gentle scrub
  • Try adding some essential oil infusion into your head.

SEEN Skin-Caring shampoo has been proven to reduce frizz while soothing the scalp with chamomile.  Find yours HERE.

  1.  Trim Your Hair Regularly

Grow-Hair-FasterYou’ve probably heard this one before, but it actually works! I’ve even tried and tested this myself!

As girls, we want our hair to be long.  Therefore, we never get it cut. however, trimming your long locks regularly is actually important if you want balanced hair growth.

Damaged hair with split ends inhibits the growth and health of your hair by causing thinning and breakage.

Therefore, by getting your hair regularly trimmed, you can avoid split ends and keep your hair growing!! Make sure you don’t over do it though!

  1. Switch your Pillow Case

It’s time to replace your old cotton pillow covers with some new silk ones!

If you are fully committed to making the most of your hair growth, then you may want to look into owning a silk pillowcase.

Silk is smoother and causes less friction. This means you won’t wake up with as many knots in your hair!

A silk case is also great for maintaining a blowout! It reduces breakage and lets your hair look better in between haircuts.

You can find one here.

  1. Brush Daily

Sometimes we’re too lazy to brush our hair and just settle for what we wake up with.

While this does have it perks in allowing us women to get ready faster, it isn’t doing your hair growth any favors.

Brushing your hair every day GENTLY will help! Overworking your hair strands can lead to fallout.

When you use a boar-bristle brush, you are ensuring that natural oils are distributed along your strands.

Moreover, brushing your hair stimulates blood flow to the scalp.   This helps transport nutrients to the follicles to support hair growth!
